President's Message

Local 1359 President Ralph CarboneWelcome to Local 1359's website. Our goal is to provide members and visitors to the site with useful, topical information that will result in a more aware and knowledgeable membership as well as provide visitors with an idea of what we do as Rent Regulation Services Employees.

Within these pages you will find the Local's Constitution, Collective Bargaining Agreement (including salary schedules), list of Officers and Delegates, past General Membership meeting minutes, a brief history of the Local, prior Local testimony on relevant issues before the state legislature and NYC Council, a calendar of upcoming events, links to members' state Retirement and Health Insurance Plans (including the Empire Plan, HIP & Aetna), the Income Protection Plan (IPP), Long Term Care Insurance, NYS Ride (transit check), WorkLife (lists state employee benefits), LifeWorks (personal services assistance) and union benefits (through your District Council 37 Benefit Fund - remembering that Local 1359 members receive their prescription drug benefit through their health insurance plan and not from the DC 37 Benefit Fund). Additional links are provided to the AFSCME, District Council 37 and NYS Division of Housing & Community Renewal home pages as well as to the NYC Rent Guidelines Board and NYC Loft Board.

We also shall post notices of upcoming civil service examinations, both promotional and open competitive, which involve our titles so that our members may be better aware of opportunities for career advancement. AFSCME and District Council 37 scholarship opportunities for the children (or relevant grandchildren) of members will also be posted during their respective application periods.

Member feedback will also be welcomed and you will find e-mail addresses on the site that will allow you to contact the Local with your ideas, opinions, suggestions and requests for assistance.

Please feel free to enjoy and explore our website.

Thank you for visiting Local 1359!
